Madness by Muse
A few days ago, Muse released their first single for their upcoming Album The 2nd Law.
There has been a lot of buzz about Muse incorporating dubstep in their album, and having help from Skrillex. This kind of scared me at first. Absolution and beyond have been so guitar-focused and hard-rocking, right? But then I was thinking of one of my favorite albums – Showbiz – and decided to just wait. Muse are not strangers to electronic sounds, and they could very well pull it off. And as far as I’m concerned, as long as we can hear Matthew Bellamy’s amazing voice and hasn’t been totally synthesized and auto-tuned then they’ll still be Muse. And since dubstep is blowing up in popularity these days, it would only make sense to use it to stay relevant, right? Only until after the release of the full album will we be able to tell if can’t withstand time or will just be another trendy piece of garbage.
It took me about a day to really get into “Madness”, but now I’m obsessed. It has a good beat and electronic elements that nod to older Muse, but also features a great guitar solo that makes it Muse as well – and let’s not forget Bellamy’s voice. Hope you all enjoy as much as I do! You won’t get it out of your head!
